The Landes Wipsee House of Europe
Beyond the 27 Member States, the European Union comprises 242 regions. To reduce inequalities and facilitate the development of less developed regions, the European Union has implemented a regional policy with three main objectives:
1. Supporting growth and employment
2. Combat climate change and energy dependence
3. Combating social exclusion.
It thus finances projects related to research and innovation, as well as to business competitiveness. The European Union's regional policy relies on specific European funds. For the period 2021-2027, the European Union is allocating €378 billion to regional policy out of a total budget of €1,824 billion.
Within the framework of European Funds, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region manages and distributes over €1.3 billion over the period 2021-2027. The Region selects and processes the projects:
ERDF: European Regional Development Fund
EAFRD: European Agricultural Fund for Regional Development
ESF: European Social Fund
