The options

Participate in a workcamp for young volunteers

It is an unpaid commitment during which a group of young people, from different cultural and geographical origins, accomplishes a mission of general interest in a field of action:

The duration of the works is generally 2 to 3 weeks and takes place in July and August. A financial contribution is requested to cover accommodation and food costs. The cost varies according to the nature, location and duration of the work.

Many systems allow you to have a short professional experience abroad.

The working holiday visa

You go to a foreign country for cultural and tourist reasons, being authorized to work there to finance your trip.

• International volunteering in business or administration (VIE / VIA)

You are between 18 and 28 years old and wish to carry out a 6 to 24 month mission within a French company or public establishment abroad.

• Wwoofing

It allows you to offer your services to an organic farm, in exchange for accommodation and meals.

• Au pair

You take care of the children and part of the household chores, in return, you are housed, fed and you earn a small amount of money.

• French assistant

You give lessons and an awakening to French culture in a school abroad for a period of 7 to 12 months.

• French reader abroad

You teach French to a student audience. Preferably, you must have a master's degree in French, Languages ​​and Civilizations to submit your application in a foreign establishment. The diploma in French as a Foreign Language (FLE) is a plus, and is often required.

• Erasmus for young entrepreneurs

You are young or future entrepreneur, you have the opportunity to train for 1 to 6 months with entrepreneurs located in another European country.

You go to a non-profit organization abroad. Volunteering is a compensated commitment, formalized by a contract.

In addition to this, you will need to know more about it.

Civic service abroad

It allows 16-25 year olds to get involved in a mission of general interest with a non-profit organization .

• The European Solidarity Corps

It allows 18-30 year olds to do voluntary work in a European country, within a non-profit organization.

• Franco-German volunteering

It allows 18-25 year-olds to do one year of volunteering in a school or a German association working in the field of culture, ecology, social or sport.

• International solidarity volunteering

It allows those over 18 to put their skills at the service of a solidarity action in Africa, Latin America, Asia or Eastern Europe for health missions,

education, training and rural or urban development, within an NGO.

• Volunteering of aid from the European Union

It allows any EU citizen, from the age of 18, to support humanitarian organizations and local communities working in affected countries outside Europe. The mission can last from one to eighteen months.

• The international volunteering of the Francophonie (VIF)

It allows Francophones aged 21 to 34, holding a university degree or equivalent, to invest in a Francophonie development project for 1 year: promotion of cultural and linguistic diversity.

• United Nations Volunteering (UNV)

It enables people over 25, with at least two years of professional experience and a university or higher technical degree, to support peace and development in the world with various United Nations agencies.
